Church History

In March 1984, the Pure in Heart Holiness Church began as a Bible Study Group of four sisters led by our pastor who was called as Minister Linda Lindsey at the time. She opened her home for the Bible Study Group. Over time, it developed into five Bible Study classes a week which quickly progressed into Bible Study and prayer service. Our Pastor sought The Lord for the name of the church. The Lord spoke to her to name the church—Pure in Heart Church. Eventually, a Friday night service was established.

Over a year later, Sunday services were added. Our services transitioned to three times a week. Our first move to a church building was in January 1987 on Blair Villa Drive, in the Poole Creek community of Atlanta. As the spirit of God led us, we have held services in various areas of Metro Atlanta.

One of the biggest growths in our ministry was when we were located in the University-John Hope homes area. Through spreading the Word of God by some of the faithful beginning members which included—Evangelist Christine Thomas, Assistant Pastor Mahone, Minister Melvyn Thomas, and Elder Bernard Mahone many lives were touched in the area.

Through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, this ministry has birthed in the Spirit of God, an apostle, prophets, ministers, evangelist, teachers, missionaries, and prayer warriors.

We thank God for how His Spirit is shaping and molding the ministry of the Pure in Heart Holiness Church, Inc.
